Short Description
An alerting device which provides a visual signal that allows a hearing impaired or deaf user to see that the telephone is ringing. The device interfaces between the telephone and a selected incandescent (not fluorescent) lamp, and switches the lamp on and off in time with the telephone ring. It can be easily connected to a standard telephone socket and has an in built socket for the three pin plug of the selected lamp.

Method of Use
The Visual Alarm has one switch to turn the visual alarm function on and off.
The lamps power cord is plugged into the signal device and the lamp can be set to off or on for day or night use.
The lamp is not supplied by Telstra.
NB. Wattage of incandescent lamp must not exceed 140 watts.

Telstra has made the Visual Signal Alert available for rental to eligible customers as part of the range of specialised telephone equipment provided through Telstras Disability Equipment Program. For more information call the Disablility Enquiry Hotline Freecall Number on 1800 068 424.

To be eligible
Users need to be unable to use a standard headset.
Users need to be a Telstra customer and have local calls with Telstra.
