Information and Advisory Services (IAS):
This service provides information and advice on equipment to help individuals improve their quality of life and maintain their independence.

Staffed by health professionals (Occupational Therapists) the service is available to all members of the public, including people with a disability, injury or illness, carers, community groups, organisations, health professionals and students.

Services are all free of charge.

Enquiries line:
Speak to or email a health professional for individualised advice. We can respond to questions, offer options and send information by post, fax or email. Written product information is provided, including a description of the item, supplier details and approximate cost.

Display:
The Independent Living Centre has an extensive range of equipment for the public to browse and trial. Health professionals are available to provide assistance. Brochures, fact sheets, books, videos and CD ROMs are also on display.

For detailed advice and to ensure staff availability, please make an appointment booking. We can negotiate to have specific items available on request where possible.

Education and Training:
Our health professionals provide talks and displays for community groups and exhibitions and can demonstrate a selection of equipment. We also deliver professional development workshops on equipment and related topics to health professionals, university and TAFE students. Please contact us for further information and to make a booking.

Outreach Service:
Our mobile unit is a statewide service for those living in rural and remote regions. It consists of a wheelchair accessible caravan with a large selection of equipment and brochures. It is staffed by a health professional to provide individualised advice. No appointments are necessary. Please refer to the outreach calendar, or call us, to find out when we are next visiting your area.

Brochures on selecting equipment are available from the display or can be downloaded from our website.

Email List:
A monthly Independent Living Centre information sheet containing our latest information on equipment is available for organisations, health professionals and anyone who is interested. Please contact us to be added to our email list.

Interpreters:
Interpreters are available by prior arrangement. Please contact us to make a booking.

Continence Resource Centre (CRC) (affiliated with the Continence Foundation of Australia):
This service operates within the Information and Advisory service of the SA Independent Living Centre.

Staffed by Registered Nurse/Continence Nurse Advisors, the continence resource centre provides information and advice on bladder and bowel problems. Information includes continence services information, funding schemes, products and an extensive product display.
