Features
This wheelchair restraint system for a vehicle incorporates an electrically operated restraint reel that can be attached to the front of the wheelchair before going into the vehicle.
By activating a switch, the belts retract and lock as the wheelchair is being loaded. The carer can let go of the wheelchair at any stage of loading and the wheelchair will hold its position. When the ideal position in the vehicle is achieved, the operator attaches and secures the rear tension restraints.
The reels can be fitted in conjunction with existing rear restraints or are available as a complete restraint kit which includes the reels, rear tension restraints and an occupant lap sash inertia safety belt.
