Milford Electric Person Lift

Short Description
A portable, electrically operated, internally mounted car hoist designed to lift individuals into and out of the front or rear seat of most vehicles. Recommended for the passenger side of the vehicle. The individual is supported by a sling. It can be user or attendant operated.

Price Guide
Refer to supplier information for pricing details.

Features
The hoist is constructed of steel. It features a mounting post which is the only fixture to the vehicle, leaving the footwell area free of obstruction for passengers. It can be removed to be used on the next vehicle, leaving the first vehicle in its original condition.

The lifting arm of the hoist consists of three components - spreader bar, extension bar and hydraulic boom - which can be easily removed when the hoist is not in use. The three separate pivoting points of the lifting arm allow the person to be lifted and easily manoeuvred into the vehicle. The length of the lifting arm can be adjusted to suit all cars and individuals being lifted.

The lifting movement (up and down) is controlled electrically from the car's 12 volt battery. The hoist is controlled by a small, handheld control box on a cord, which can be attached to the hoist using hook and loop fastening. It has two switches, one for ON/OFF and the other for UP/DOWN.

The sideways movement (into and out of the car doorway) and pivoting movements are controlled manually, either directed by the assistant or facilitated by the hoist user themselves. The hoist has three pivot points, enabling good manoeuvrability.

A range of slings are available to cater for all sizes of user up to 110kg. Heavier people can be lifted with a modified hoist.

The hoist needs to be installed by an automotive electrician. It fits all two door and most four door cars. It can be used on the passenger or driver side (or both). It can also be used on back seats in most four door cars.

The hoist can also be used around the home in any place where a mounting bracket can be fitted. When fitted in the home, it can be powered by a small sealed 12 volt battery or transformer taking power from any 3 pin plug. Extra mounting posts can be supplied so that the single hoist can be used in various places.
