Short Description
The Proxi-Mate system is comprised of a Proxi-Mate alarm unit and a sensor. The Proxi-Mate Bed Sensor is an alarm system that alerts an attendant when the user has risen from their bed via a pager or call system. The Proxi-Mate range of sensors also include a Chair Sensor, an Infra Red Sensor, and a Door Sensor. Proxi-Mate is suitable for aged care, home care and hospitals. Can be customised.

Features
The Proxi-Mate system is comprised of a Proxi-Mate alarm unit and a sensor.
The Proxi-Mate Bed Sensor is placed on top of the mattress and notifies the attendant as soon as an attempt is being made to leave the bed.
The Proxi-Mate Chair Sensor uses the same technology as the bed sensor and is specifically designed for use with a seat.
The Proxi-Mate Infra-Red Sensor is a motion detector which can be used to monitor a specific area.
The Proxi-Mate Door Sensor allows for the monitoring of a specific door, notifying the attendant of an entry or exit.
For the nursing home environment, Proxi-Mate notifies staff through the existing nurse call system or a Proxi-Mate pager.
For home use, Proxi-Mate notifies the carer through a pager.
All Proxi-Mate alarm systems come ready to use.
If used with a nurse-call system, the Proxi-Mate system is supplied with the appropriate plug installed (Please contact the supplier for more details).

Method of use for the Proxi-Mate Bed Sensor
1. Place the sensor across the top of the mattress so that when the user lies on the bed their lower back will be on top of the sensor.
2. Make the bedclothes, leaving the plug on the end of the Bed Sensor overhanging the side.
3. Connect the Bed Sensor to the Proxi-Mate unit using the grey cable supplied.
4. Ensure all cords are not creating a trip hazard.
5. Position the user in the bed and make sure they are settled.
6. Press the power button and wait for lights to stop flashing and ensure all three lights are on.
7. Turn the pager on.
8. The Proxi-Mate is now activated and when the user rises the pager will sound an alarm and the light will flash, and an alarm will sound from the Proxi-Mate unit.
9. To reset, press the button on the pager and also the power button on the Proxi-Mate Wireless Unit.
10. The system is now ready to be used again.

Method of Use for the Proxi-Mate Chair Sensor
1. Place the Chair Sensor on the base of the chair where he user will be seated.
2. Ensure that the plug on the side of the Chair Sensor is hanging out of either the back or side of the chair.
3. Seat the user.
4. Connect the Chair Sensor to the Proxi-Mate unit using the grey cable.
5. Press the power button and wait for lights to stop flashing and ensure all three lights are on.
6. Turn the pager on (red light will flash).
7. The Proxi-Mate is now activated and when the user rises the pager will sound an alarm and the light will flash, and an alarm will sound from the Proxi-Mate unit.
8. To reset, press the button on the pager and also the power button on the Proxi-Mate Wireless Unit.
9. The system is now ready to be used again.

Method of Use for the Proxi-Mate Infrared Sensor.
1. The sensor is a motion detector to detect movement in a specific area. When the path of the sensor is crossed the alarm will sound
2. Connect the Infra-red sensor to the Proxi-Mate Unit using the grey cable.
3. To activate press the power button.
4. Wait approximately 30 seconds for lights to stop flashing and ensure all three lights are on.
5. The Proxi-Mate is now activated and when the user crosses the path of the sensor the pager will sound an alarm and the light will flash, and an alarm will sound from the Proxi-Mate unit.
6. To reset, press the button on the pager and also the power button on the Proxi-Mate Wireless Unit.
7. The system is now ready to be used again.

Method of Use for installing the Nurse Call System.
1. Ensure you have a Proxi-Mate Wireless Sensor Unit, black power cord, Proxi-Mate pager, 9 Volt battery.
2. If using the wall bracket, sit the unit in the wall bracket ensuring that the cord will be able to reach the desired position when placed in the bracket.
3. Connect the black power cord to the Wireless unit and turn power on at the power point.
4. Insert 9 Volt battery into the back of the pager.
5. Follow operating instructions for use.

12 month warranty from the date of purchase, covering faulty workmanship and manufacturing.
