SHORT DESCRIPTION
A manual or power swivel seat base which is designed to move the occupant through a 90 degree turn into or out of a vehicle. It can be fitted to the vehicle"s original seat, or to a low profile car seat such as the BEV. Available to suit two door and four door cars. Able to be fitted to the driver, front passenger, or rear passenger position in the car. Can be manually operated or power operated with a remote control.

Installation
Turnout seat is installed by supplier.
· Can be installed on the driver or passenger side of the vehicle. However, it may not be suited to the driving position in some makes of vehicles.

It is mounted on a bracket that is fitted in the original seat mountings and can easily be removed when the car is replaced.
Specific mounting brackets are available for the most common car models.

Method of Use

MANUAL OPERATION
1. Park vehicle with sufficient clearance on the side of the vehicle.
2. Adjust seat lengthwise to avoid the Turnout hitting the centre console.
3. Raise the release lever to begin turning.
4. Hold the seat to turn it out. Release the lever and it will lock automatically in the turned out position.
5. Use the seat"s lengthwise adjustment to pull the seat further out, if required.

POWER OPERATION
1. Park vehicle with sufficient clearance on the side of the vehicle.
2. Adjust seat lengthwise to avoid the Turnout hitting the centre console.
3. Press down the left button to turn the seat outward. Seat will automatically stop when in the turned out position.
4. A two second delay will prevent the control being reactivated immediately.
5. Use the seat"s lengthwise adjustment to pull the seat further out if required.

Models
Four models are available.
All models can be installed in the majority of vehicle models available on the market:

1. Turnout 2
Manually controlled and suitable for two-door cars.
2. Turnout 2E
Powered by a remote control and suitable for two-door cars.
3. Turnout
Manually controlled and is suitable for four-door cars.
4. Turnout 4E
Powered by a remote control and is suitable for four-door cars.

The two door models move the seat to face outwards, and also slide forwards across the doorstep.
The four door models only swivel to face outwards. Therefore a standing transfer may be necessary.

Safety and Maintenance

Keep the Turnout free from gravel or loose objects by vacuuming it regularly.

Standards
Some equipment needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards check with the supplier or look at the Novitatech website ().









CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
The Turnout seat does not raise the height of the seat, so transfers for some people, may still prove difficult. If seat lift is required, the Auto Adapt Turny might be an alternative to consider (refer to 51.21.011).
The two door models move the seat to face outwards, and also slide forwards across the doorstep.
The four door models only swivel to face outwards. Therefore a standing transfer may be necessary.
Modifications to the vehicle are minimal, therefore the vehicle can be returned to its original condition when required.
Factors affecting space available for swivelling and roof clearance are vehicle model and the height of the person using the seat. Seek advice from the installer.
Installation may not be possible in the driver’s seat of some make of models, as the steering wheel may impede functional use.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance Company of the approved vehicle modifications.
