Short Description
An adult sized wheelchair seating back support system made in the Netherlands available in seven sizes. The Vicair Multifunction Back comprises of nine water resistant compartments on a soft backing. Each compartment has a large number of tetrahedral shaped cells inside called SmartCells. These air filled cells work to conform to the users shape to adjust the degree of trunk support and provide pressure reduction. Optional Multifunction seat cushion and headrest are available.

Features
A large number of SmartCells is in each of nine compartments. Each air filled cell has a low friction so they slide over one another to conform to the users shape and provide pressure reduction.
Method of adjustment is by adding and removing the tetrahedral shaped SmartCells from the required compartment. This is accessed by opening a zip on each compartment. This may improve support for postural issues such as kyphosis or scoliosis.
Method of Attachment
Method of attachment of the back support is using hook and loop (velcro) to fit to the existing wheelchair backrest. The rear of this support is material only, so moulds to the shape of the wheelchair backrest.
Options and Accessories
A headrest is available with three waterproof compartments and SmartCells in each. This is attached using hook and loop (velcro) to a high backrest.
The Butterfly is available and offers lumbar support. See Deis item number 41.37.015.
The Multifunction Seat is a cushion which provides four compartments and assists position a user in a reclined position while using the Multifunction Back. Available in four sizes.
Cover
Over the water resistant cover of the back support, thoracic support and headrest fits a black Comfair cover which is washable and has two way stretch.
An incontinence cover is available for the seat cushion only. This is water resistant and has a two way stretch.
