Short Description
This features a range of hip belts and chest harnesses in sizes for children and adults. The pelvic belts for adults feature pads which are adjustable in position from side to side and are able to be secured once in place. The chest harnesses also feature padding for comfort. The pelvic belts and harnesses for children feature closed cell foam pads enclosed in a breathable fabric. D-Rings assist adjustment and three choices of buckle styles are available.

Product Range
Paediatric Hip Belts
Two hip belts are available in the range, being a front or reverse pull belt.
The hip belts are available in two or four point styles (two or four points of securing the belt).
The hip belts come in one length which is able to be trimmed if required. The belts attach to the chair with the standard Tri-End fittings available in the range.
The front pull design is standard and is adjusted by a central buckle.
The reverse pull design allows the belt to be adjusted from both sides by pulling the D-rings towards the middle of the person.
2-Point Adult Pelvic Belts
An unpadded hip belt is available with 1.5 or 2 inch webbing and the choice of three buckle options.
Padded hip belts are available in front or reverse pull styles and features 1.5 inch webbing. Two sizes of pads are available which consist of closed cell foam flame laminated between two layers of fabric. Adjustment is the same as for the paediatric hip belts.
4-Point Adult Pelvic Belts
Two padded hip belts are available, one being front pull adjustment, and the other being reverse pull. The webbing of the main belt is 1.5 inches wide, while the webbing on the 4-point straps is 1 inch wide.
Buckle Styles
A side squeeze buckle style is available which releases by squeezing both sides together. It is available on 1 inch and 1.5 inch belts. It allows for the choice of dual, single or fixed pull adjustment.
The push button buckle can be positioned for right or left hand release and is spring loaded. It is available on 1.5 and 2 inch belts.
The aircraft latch style buckle releases when pulling up the upper flap. It is available on 2 inch wide belts.
Paediatric Chest Harnesses
Two paediatric harnesses are available, and vary in the way they adjust (either by top pull or bottom pull).
Chest harnesses must be used in combination with a hip belt.
Two straps are placed over each shoulder and a side squeeze buckle is featured on the sternum strap.
The bottom pull harness is adjusted from the front at the bottom of each pad, while the top pull harness adjusts from behind by side squeeze buckles at the top of each pad on the shoulder straps.
Adult Chest Harnesses
This includes a bottom pull and a top pull chest harness which adjusts in the same way to those included in the paediatric range. They feature the option of medium or large sized pads. Extra large sized pads are also available with the top pull chest harness.
All adult chest harnesses must also be used in combination with a hip belt.
Also available in the adult range is a contoured harness, which is available as a bottom or top pull adjustment. It features a contoured shape in the shoulder straps to curve around the user. The surface in contact with the user features a slip resistant textured material.
Chest Harness Options and Features
The chest harness is available in three styles. This includes shoulder straps with a strap joining them together across the chest, the option of two straps which cross over each other and a back pack style harness.
The harnesses feature cam lock adjustment at the shoulders to alter length.
The harness can be fixed directly to the wheelchair frame or attached with Varilite Frame Clamps.
Every harness has a dynamic strap option at the shoulders. When the dynamic strap is adjusted all the way down, the shoulder strap is fixed in place. When the dynamic strap is adjusted all the way out, the user is allowed some movement through the elastic straps in the shoulders.
Chest Belt
The chest belt secures with a hook and loop closure and features a large D-ring grip to assist opening and closing the belt.
Tri-End Fittings
A set of Tri-End fittings is included with each belt or harness. The fittings can be attached to the wheelchair by two methods, either directly bolted to the wheelchair or used to attach the webbing around the wheelchair frame.
