POINTS TO CONSIDER:

* No one flooring finish will satisfy all of the typical requirements of the various rooms within a dwelling or public building
* ease of application
* ease of cleaning and maintenance
* finished appearance
* relevance to use of area eg. wet area
* durability
* indoor / outdoor use
* used by people with bare feet or shoes eg. some surfaces may be too abrasive for bare feet or may impede a person's footing in the case of adhesive strips or mats.

OPTIONS:

* FLOOR ETCHING forms microscopic grooves and indents on floor surfaces, and may also be suitable for use on baths / shower bases.
- This type of coating may be more difficult to clean as grit and dust can collect in the grooves / indents that it creates.

* SLIP RESISTANT TAPE - available in a wide range of surface finished and sizes. This addition to the floor can also be used on stair treads.

* RUBBERISED TEXTURED COATING to go over metal, wooden or concrete.

* SLIP RESISTANT PAVING GRAIN embedded into enamel paint.

* ADHESIVE BACKED PRESSURE SENSITIVE SURFACING TAPE.

* DOUBLED SIDED STICKY MESH TAPE to keep mats in place.

* CHEMICAL TREATMENT which varies the structure of surfaces to give them greater slip resistance.

* Application of PAINT AND SAND or PEBBLE MIX.
