More Details
POINTS TO CONSIDER:

* height of the bowl; ease of rising from sitting
* cisterns can be recessed or surface mounted
* whether cistern will impede the use of an over toilet aid or
mobile over toilet chair
* whether cistern will impede sideways transfer from a
wheelchair
* ease of use of flushing mechanism (lever easier than button)
* mandatory dual flush systems for all new bathrooms and
bathroom alterations.

OPTIONS:

* Lever flush mechanisms are the easiest to operate; the
levers can be extended if necessary.
* A higher than usual toilet bowl is available.
* A design is available for an extension to a push button on a
recessed cistern.
* If the flushing button is recessed, a piece of dowelling
with or without a crosspiece can be used to push the button.
* Electronic no touch tiles contain a low energy radar sensor;
the flush is activated by bringing a hand toward the tile.
* Flushing can be operated by foot.
* A 'small bore' toilet system can be fitted which does not
need the same extent of plumbing into the sewer. This can be
helpful when a person is no longer able to access an outside
toilet.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION:
- Check with a local plumbing service.
