- ease of reaching height and depth of cupboards and drawers
- direction of opening of doors of fridge, oven and dishwasher
- relevance of shelf and bench heights to their usage
- proximity of pantry and fridge to sink and work surfaces
- proximity of sink to stove
- amount of work involved in assembly and installation of units
- cost of installation of units
- degree to which cupboard doors open
