Short Description
A compact, automatic, lightweight, aluminium alloy frame, vehicle mounted platform hoist which lifts a person sitting on a wheelchair / scooter into and out of a vehicle.

More Details
This vehicle mounted lifter has a skid resistant, aluminium alloy platform with edge barriers on each side and a front roll stop edge which folds down to form a ramp for getting on and off the platform. Hand rails extend from the vertical section of the framework of the lift for user security.
The lifter raises and lowers using an electrically operated roller chain. It is operated by a touch pad control unit on a cord. It features manual back up by way of a speed wrench.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
In Western Australia, Transport's Vehicle Examiners (Licensing Division) must approve modifications to vehicles, including installation of hoists. Providing the modifications meet all requirements, a modification permit will be issued and the cost of the permit may be waived for passengers and drivers with disabilities.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.
