Short Description
A compact, automatic, steel frame, internally mounted platform hoist which lifts a person sitting on a powered wheelchair / scooter into and out of a vehicle. Features a safety restraint belt.

More Details
This vehicle mounted lifter has a steel mesh platform with edge barriers on each side and the front roll stop edge folds down to form a ramp for getting on and off the platform. Hand rails extend from the vertical section of the framework of the lift for user security.
A restraint belt runs between the hand rails in front of the user to prevent them from moving forward on the platform. The lift will not operate unless the belt is locked into the buckle.
The lifter raises using an electro hydraulic pump. It is operated by a touch pad control unit on a cord. It features manual backup by way of a hand pump for going up and a pressure relief valve to go down.
While the vehicle is in motion, the StoLoc design assures a quiet interior ride by securely locking the platform in the stowed position.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
In Western Australia, Transport's Vehicle Examiners (Licensing Division) must approve modifications to vehicles, including installation of hoists. Providing the modifications meet all requirements, a modification permit will be issued and the cost of the permit may be waived for passengers and drivers with disabilities.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.

Australian And Other Standards
This product has been tested and complies with Australian Standard AS3856.1 - 1991 - Hoists and ramps for people with disabilities, vehicle mounted. Tested in April 1992. Copy of certificate sighted by ILC.
