Short Description
A powered wheelchair lift which is stored under the vehicle when not in use. Lifts a person in a wheelchair into a vehicle. Suitable for installation on most vans.

This electrically operated, vehicle mounted hoist is made of steel with a slip resistant aluminium platform tread plate. The platform has side edge barriers and a front edge roll stop. The electrically activated roll stop automatically locks into the "up" position before the lift will raise or lower. When the lift stops moving, the roll stop folds down to form a ramp for getting on and off the platform.
When not in use, the platform is stored underneath the vehicle in a high strength aluminium cartridge, which fully encloses the lift, protecting it from the weather and corrosive elements. The compact cartridge is only 120mm (4.65") thick.
A hand held four button pendant control operates the lift, raising the wheelchair occupant from ground level to floor level of the vehicle and back again. The platform moves in and out of the storage cartridge electrically also. The lift requires at least 12 volts to power it. It features a built in manual back up system.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
In Western Australia, Transport's Vehicle Examiners (Licensing Division) must approve modifications to vehicles, including installation of hoists. Providing the modifications meet all requirements, a modification permit will be issued and the cost of the permit may be waived for passengers and drivers with disabilities.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.
