Short Description
A powered, under floor mounted, one piece platform wheelchair lift designed to lift a manual wheelchair and occupant into and out of a vehicle. Suitable for use with small buses and front wheel drive vans. The lift stores under the vehicle when not in use.

Method Of Operation
The platform of the Eclipse must first be manually pulled out from the enclosure under the vehicle. The platform is raised / lowered by electro hydraulic pumps. The hydraulic pump on is operated by a powered hand control to raise the platform. Hand piece control activates gravity control valve to lower the platform. If power is lost manual backup hand pump and manual release valve enable operation of the loader.
Safety Features
Forward and rear roll stops prevent the wheelchair rolling off the platform. The rear roll stop is spring loaded and automatically lowers to form a ramped entry / exit to the platform.

A wheelchair and occupant restraint must be installed when transporting a person in a wheelchair.
Licence & Insurance Requirements
In Western Australia, Transport's Vehicle Examiners (Licensing Division) must approve modifications to vehicles, including installation of hoists. Providing the modifications meet all requirements, a modification permit will be issued and the cost of the permit may be waived for passengers and drivers with disabilities.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.
