Turny Seat

Short Description
A powered, swivel out and height adjustable seat base designed to assist a person to transfer into a vehicle. Designed for higher vehicles such as four wheel drives, mini buses and vans. Can be used by an attendant or by the user.

More Details
This seat base has a continuous variable adjustment to assist in wheelchair transfers. It is fitted to the original seat mountings. It is recommended a low profile seat such as the BEV is used to ensure head clearance is maintained.

Factors affecting space available for swivelling and roof clearance are - the vehicle model and the height of the person using the seat. Seek advice from the installer.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
In Western Australia, Transport's Vehicle Examiners (Licensing Division) must approve modifications to vehicles, including installation of alternative frames / swivel devices to the underside of seat bases. Providing the modification meets all requirements, a modification permit will be issued and the cost waived for drivers or passengers with disabilities.

To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.
