Short Description
A wheelchair platform stairlift that enables a person sitting in a wheelchair or scooter to be transported up and down a stairway on a platform which is pulled along tracking by an electrically powered drive system. Suitable for straight or curved stairways. Indoor and outdoor applications. Can be customised.

More Details
The stairlift consists of two rails mounted onto either the stair tread or the wall. Models are available to cope with tight internal and external stairways with landings and multiple levels. A complete range of colours are available.

The wheelchair platform folds flat against the wall when not in use. It is available in models with either automatic or manual deployment into and out of position for use.
Manual deployment is via a single bar on the unit, so it does not require bending down.
The platforms feature a non slip surface, forward and backward rollstops that lower to form ramps, and optional safety barrier rails at the front and back.

The platform also has a fold up seat with optional armrests and seat belt.

Features
CONTROLS A joystick is on the unit for use by the occupant with push button call buttons at each level of the stairs. A hand held control unit on an extendable cord is included for use by an attendant walking beside the occupant.

POWER SOURCE is mains power.

SAFETY FEATURES The stairlift will automatically stop at the top and bottom and will not accelerate past its intended speed when going down. Emergency stop buttons are found on the platform controls. The lift will automatically stop if it meets an obstruction or if the platform ramps are touched, such as the wheelchair rolling against them. Stairlift can be manually lowered if power fails. Battery backup is optional, as is audiovisual alert to indicate the lift is in use. An optional fire alarm emergency stop is connected to the building's fire alarm system.

DISMANTLING / FOLDING The platform and barrier arms fold up when not in use, either automatically or manually.
