Both key extensions aid grip and leverage by presenting a larger area to hold the key.
Junction Box Lid Extension:
Materials:
2 - 5/8" two way plastic electrical junction boxes
2 - 1/2" x 3/16" roofing or round had screws with hexagon nuts
6 - 3/16" washers
Construction:
1. Undo the screws holing down the junction box lids and set aside both screws and boxes.
2. Assemble the two lids back to back with locating tags 180 degrees apart. They should be separated by two or three 3/16" washers on each 1/2" x 3/16" screw - depending upon the thickness of the key.
3. Tighten nuts. Two rectangular plastic key tags are screwed together using screws and hexagon nuts. The key is then placed between the two tags.
The same principle can be used to build a key extension out of the two key tags and 1/2" x 3/16" screws.
