The viewing angle of the display screen can be changed, and text display font size can be enlarged, to assist users with visual impairments.
The direct keyboard access and switch scanning access allows flexibility if the users' physical access needs change.
The screen is clearest indoors and in shady areas but it can be difficult to see outside especially in direct sunlight.
Short Description
The Link Plus is an A4 sized portable dedicated word processor with an inbuilt DECtalk speech synthesizer. It has a laptop sized keyboard and a liquid crystal display (LCD) viewing window, which can display 16 lines of text. Stored files can be transferred to a PC or Macintosh computer to format or print. Text files can be transferred from a PC to the device. There is a facility for storing abbreviations and messages for instant retrieval.
