Standards
For some types of equipment, specific Standard(s) are applicable to the materials used in, the manufacturing processes applied to and the installation of products. Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specific Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of this item as to its compliance with relevant Standard (s).

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
This item may be suitable for children who require greater support than that provided by standard child car restraints.
It may be helpful to refer to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4370: 1996 Restraint of children with disabilities in motor vehicles to assist in deciding the safest way to transport a child with a disability.
Some items do not meet Australian Standard AS 1754 2000. A certificate is therefore required from a certified medical practitioner, with a review and expiry date, to explain why the item is required and the length of time it’s required. This certificate must be stored with the item at all times. For further information, contact Vic Roads on 13 11 71.
Alteration of a car restraint from its original form is considered a modification (such as extending a crotch strap), and is therefore no longer approved. In this instance a medical certificate explaining why the modification or alteration is required, must be stored with the item at all times. This applies also for items that meet Australian Standards AS1754 2000 that are altered in any way, as this will nullify the standards testing. For further information, contact Vic Roads on 13 11 71.
Refer to the VicRoads ‘Restraint Fitting Stations Get It Right’ brochure to ensure that the child car restraint is installed correctly.
Refer to following link for Guidelines on Restraining Children with Disabilities in Motor Vehicles.
Manufacturer’s instructions must be followed.
