SHORT DESCRIPTION
Range of car safety belts for children with a disability to be used when standard safety belts cannot provide adequate restraint. The belt may comprise double harness, a leg divider strap, waist strap etc. No alteration is made to buckle/release catch mechanism. Also available is an adult harness, the "Surviva".

FEATURES
Safety belts manufactured by Hemco industries may not comply with the Standard Association requirements. In order to use car restraints and harnesses that have not been approved by Australian Standards Association, a letter from the person"s doctor is required.

AS/NZS 4370:1996Restraint of children with disabilities in motor vehicles
For some types of equipment, specific Australian or other Standard(s) are applicable to the materials used in, the manufacturing processes applied to and the installation of products. Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specific Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of this item as to its compliance with relevant Standard (s).
CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
It may be helpful to refer to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4370: 1996 Restraint of children with disabilities in motor vehicles to assist in deciding the safest way to transport a child with a disability.
This item is designed to provide additional support for the user while sitting in a vehicle. It is required to be used in conjunction with the existing vehicle seatbelt. If this item impedes the vehicle seatbelt in any way, a letter from a doctor may be required to outline the need for this modification to the car seat restraint.
