SHORT DESCRIPTION
This product consists of a contoured seat with a headrest, and a wheelchair base that can be detached for stowing. The seat is designed to operate with other car transport products from AutoAdapt, such as the Turnout Swivel Base, to eliminate lifting when transferring in and out of the car. Available with self propelling or transit wheels and can be used as a wheelchair for indoor and outdoor use.

FEATURES
Seat
Available in either a BEV seat or Recaro specialist seat. Both seats are thickly padded, contoured "euro" style seats.
Options including lumbar support, lateral support and seat cushions with tempur foam.

Headrest
A headrest is included as standard with both seating styles.
Various styles of headrest available including Comfort headrest (angle adjustable), kids headrest, Christian headrest (side supports at neck level) and a neck roll.

Armrests
Flip up armrests are standard with both seating styles.

Legrests
Options include angle adjustable legrest, child legrest or foot rack.

Models
4 models are available each consisting of a wheelbase and a choice of seat, headrest, armrests, push handles, footrest, carriage and rails.

Carony 12
12 inch (transit) rear wheels.
Used in conjunction with the Turny Car Seat Lift.

Carony 24
24 inch (self propelling) rear wheels.
Three different drive wheel locations.
Supplied standard with anti tippers.
Used in conjunction with the Turny Car Seat Lift.

Carony Fixed
Same as the Carony 12 except that the undercarriage is a fixed standard height.
Supplied standard with anti tippers.
Can only be used with Turny Seat.

Carony Kids
Seat depth of 400mm to suit children or small adults.
Available with transit or self propelling wheels.
Growth adjustable in seat depth, lateral supports and neck cushion.
Foot rack.
Can be converted to adult size when the child outgrows the seat, via a kit from AutoAdapt.

Wheels
Carony 12: Front wheels 200mm x 50 mm; Rear wheels 312mm x 56mm.
Carony 24: Front wheels 175mm x 27mm; Rear wheels 600mm diameter.
The self propelling wheels have a quick release mechanism for boot stowage.

Frame
Steel alloy frame available in corn yellow, patina green or ultra marine.

Method of Operation
1. Turn the swivel transport out of the car, ready to receive the seat.
2. Remove the push handles and footrest from the Carony wheelchair base. Dock the seat into the swivel transport.
3. Release the safety stop on the Carony wheelchair frame and push the chair into the car. Unload the wheelchair frame from the swivel and the seat.
4. Turn the seat into position in the car. Fasten the seat belt.
5. Store the wheelchair frame in the boot. Ensure it is well anchored.
6. Carony can be used as a regular wheelchair.

Adjustment
The wheelchair frame is vertically adjustable to conform to different car models and ground conditions when you transfer into the car.
For the self-propelled model, the position of the wheels is adjustable to meet the user’s needs.

Installation
Carony rails must be mounted inside the vehicle to use the Carony seat.
The rails can be mounted in the front or rear passenger seat positions.
Installation must be completed by an authorised agent.
The Turnout swivel base is used to place the chair inside the vehicle. In the case of high-sill vehicles such as minibuses, Carony can be combined with the Turny car seat lift .

Safety and Maintenance
Refer to the supplier and manufacturer manual for maintenance instructions and safety warnings.

Standards
Some equipment needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards check with the supplier or look at the Novitatech website ().

Warranty
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.

















CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
Correct manual handling techniques must be observed when lifting the wheelchair base into the boot for storage and transportation. Portable ramps and/or other lifting devices in and out of the boot may be considered as an alternative to lifting.
