Factors to Consider
Short Description
Folding chair with safety belt mounted on a caterpillar type base to allow manual emergency evacuation via stars or ramps. Operated by one attendant. Folds for storage. Eight auxiliary wheels give smooth running and stability over flat surfaces. Adjustable safety belts with velcro attachments hold the occupant securely. A kick stand at rear of unit gives stability when transferring seats.

Method Of Use
Body weight propels the unit down the stairs and a mechanical governor automatically limits the descent speed.
A pre set centrifugal brake and attendant operated drum brake permits a controlled descent speed, not requiring the attendant to either push or restrain the unit. This allows use by an attendant much smaller than the passenger.
The descent can be slowed or stopped by the attendant on stairs of up to 40 degrees.
The rider can be left unattended with brake applied whilst obstructions are moved.
