Short Description
The Scalamobil is an attendant operated stair climbing device which is designed to fit onto most standard manual wheelchairs. An attachment point is mounted onto the wheelchair into which the Scalamobil is placed. To climb stairs, the rear drive wheels of the wheelchair must be removed via quick release axles, however an option is available for fixed wheels. The unit features handles which can be adjusted in height, and it is powered by a battery and climbs internal or external steps one at a time by a push button located on the handle.

Features
Base Mechanism
It is able to be dismantled into two separate components for transport.
Climbing speed is adjustable by turning a knob.
Automatic brakes on all four wheels.
Safety brakes stop the Scalamobil at the edge of every step.
Maximum step height that can be climbed is 200mm, unless an extension of climbing height is requested which climbs up to 250mm.
The minimum step depth required is 110mm.

Batteries
Two 12 volt rechargeable batteries with charger are supplied.
Low battery warning light.
The batteries are maintenance free and up to 300 steps (dependent on weight of the occupant) can be climbed on a full charge.

Options and Accessories
Headrest.
Safety waist or shoulder belt.
Handgrip.
Scalachair is a compact chair on four castors which can be attached to the Scalamobil. It reduces the overall size for use on narrow stairs and through narrow doors.
Scalaport is an attachment for wheelchairs with rear wheels remaining attached. This makes the overall size longer which may cause issues on narrow stairs.
Voltage transformer for charging in a vehicle.
