Roho Shower Commode Cushion

Factors to Consider
The level of inflation in the cushion must be checked regularly.
For an individual who requires use of a pressure care cushion it is significant to consider alternative seating surfaces when not in their primary seating system. Use of a pressure care cushion on a mobile commode chair may provide consistency of pressure care when using such equipment.
There are many things to consider when selecting pressure care products including nutrition, skin moisture, level of mobility, age, shear, friction, location of pressure ulcer (if present) and hygiene. Any comments regarding level of pressure care is a suggestion made by suppliers as a guide to assist with selection, and this may differ from brand to brand. When selecting pressure care products it is strongly advised that a comprehensive assessment is undertaken by a health professional to encourage correct product selection and monitoring of product effectiveness.
The neoprene rubber is able to be patched or repaired if required due to punctures.
The manufacturer states that the separate air cells facilitate air circulation.

Short Description
This cushion is designed to be placed onto seats of mobile shower commode chairs. It is a square shape with a central commode aperture. It consists of a series of cells which can move independently and are filled with air. The manufacturer reports this as being Dry Flotation technology, enabling the user to be immersed in the cushion and be supported by air. It features low profile air cells to reduce the overall height of the cushion and the manufacturer states it is designed for a user at moderate to high risk of skin breakdown.

Dry Flotation Technology
The manufacturer states there are 4 principles of the Dry Flotation Technology.
Roho cushions are constructed of individual cells that can move independently of each other, enabling the cushion to move with the user and contour to their shape.
The manufacturer states that the cellular design enables the user to immerse into the cushion creating low surface tension.
The manufacturer states that as a result of immersing into the cushion, forces and pressures pushing back against the person are kept equal at all points, resulting in greater contact area between the user and cushion.
The manufacturer indicates that the design of the surface of each cell as well as the ability of cells to move independently reduces friction and shear forces.
