Short Description
This booklet provides guidelines and standards as a primary source of criteria for State and territory driver licensing authorities and medical and other health professionals in assessing fitness to drive. This booklet has been approved by the Australian Licensing Authority for assessing fitness to drive private motor cars, motorcycles, and rigid trucks up to 8 tonnes gross vehicle mass. It contains general information about the assessment of drivers and the assessment process, the medical standards associated with specific medical conditions, and some specific state laws related to driving. In regards to specific medical conditions, this booklet describes their relevance to driving, general considerations, physical and mental functioning considerations, and the medical standards imposed.
