More Details
Technical Aid to the Disabled (TAD) is a non profit, voluntary cooperative which specialises in the design, production and installation of aids for people with disabilities when such aids are not available commercially, and the adaptation of existing aids for people with disabilities. Clients are required to have a health professional involved who work in collaboration with TAD. Design and construction or modification of aids are likely to take between 6 weeks and 2 months. Anyone with a disability including people with compensable injuries are eligible to receive this service.

TAD
** Generates, collects and shares information on technology for people with disabilities
** Collaborates with organisations for people with particular diseases, disabilities, or sensory impairments.

All requests for assistance should be directed to the Coordinator who will then organise for a technical member to visit the client.

TAD Library and Information Service:
This is through the NSW TAD.
Lending and reference materials are available free of charge to people with disabilities and their families, to other libraries, and to any person working in the rehabilitation, care or education of people with disabilities. Library materials cover technology and its applications for people with disabilities - books and files on independent living, communication, computer applications, recreation, access and other relevant topics. The library holds information on the modification of commercially available products (but not data on commercial availability, ranges, prices, etc.).
