Pathfinder Tactile Ground Surface Indicators

Short Description
A tactile ground surface indicator consisting of discrete plastic domes or domes on a connecting backing strip. These can be applied to a wide range of existing ground surfaces including paving or concrete after it has been laid. One model of discrete domes can be installed into carpet or other soft flooring.

Price Guide
Refer to supplier details for pricing.

More Details
. Available in two patterns:
Warning - with raised disks or domes
Directional - with raised lines or ridges
The plastic domes are installed into hard flooring by saw cutting a groove for the backing strip then adhering the backing strip into the groove.
For use on carpeted floors, a timber studded sheet must be first laid under the area. Each tactile dome is then fastened through the carpet into the the stud hole on the underlay sheet.
Available in a range of colours. Unlike other TGSI products that incorporate a background between each dome, the Pathfinder system does not create an expanse of colour contrast across the application area. Therefore a higher degree of luminance contrast is required by AS1428.4 between the dome and the surrounding ground surface. Refer to the current AS1428.4 for requirements.
A supply and installation service is available in all capital cities. A builders (DIY) kit is also available.

Installation
These TGSI must be installed professionally and used only as tactile ground surface indicators. Installation must be in accordance with requirements specified in AS1428.4.
Installation technique and preparation of existing flooring varies with type of flooring and ground surface.
