Genie Joystick

Short Description
The Genie Joystick is designed for a person who can use a joystick but who finds the buttons on a standard wheelchair control too difficult to use. If the user is unable to operate the buttons on the Genie Joystick, external switches can be connected.
The Genie Joystick can be used to control a wheelchair, access a computer, operate environmental controls and communication devices.

Features
A range of external devices can be connected to the Genie Joystick. These include communication devices and environmental control units such as the Gewa Prog or Sicare Pilot. When the user selects the external device on the Genie Joystick they can, make selections using the joystick and Button 1.
The Genie Joystick has a wireless built in computer mouse (it contains an IrDA transmitter). This transmitter CANNOT be used for environmental control. A mouse emulator is then needed to be plugged into the PS/2 port of your computer. When the wheelchair is positioned close to the computer and the computer access mode selected with the Genie Joystick, you can then move the mouse cursor on the screen.
MOUNT
The Genie Joystick replaces the existing joystick on the wheelchair. A mounting bracket is supplied to fit different makes of wheelchair.
DISPLAY
Features a bright 7 segment display. There is no alpha, numeric or graphic display. Operation modes are selected by first pressing Button 1 and then deflecting the joystick until a symbol representing the desired mode is displayed in the 7 segment display.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The Genie Joystick is a DX master remote and will only function within a DX Control System.
FEEDBACK
A beep is used to confirm when the user has pressed a button or selected an operating mode.
