Kurzweil 3000

Short Description
Kurzweil provides simultaneous visual and auditory presentation of printed material that has been scanned into the software system. Similar to the Kurzweil 1000, the Kurzweil 3000 has been designed for readers with learning disabilities or dyslexia who require a large screen, scanned representation of material being read, as well as speech output. The word being spoken and its context are visually highlighted and magnified to allow the reader to follow along.

Kurzweil 3000 displays the original image of scanned documents, including text and pictures and retains type font, size, colour and enhancements. The user is able to control the functions of Kurzweil 3000 by commands or voice. The Kurzweil 3000 is available as a software-only package or the complete system can also be purchased from Optek - contact company for further details.

Features
Dual highlighting (word and sentence), spoken dictionary definitions, letter-by-letter spelling, clear synthesised speech (Flex Talk synthesized speech which requires an ordinary sound card and offers 14 voice options from which to choose).

CONTENTS:
Omni 3000 Scan/Read Station - Pentium PC with 32 MB ram, 1.2 GB hard disk, 1.44MB 3.5" floppy disk drive, CD-ROM, sound card and speakers, microphone, SVGA monitor. Full size keyboard with mouse, Windows 95 (pre-installed), Omni 3000 software (pre-installed) and single pass colour flat bed scanner.

Installation
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Omni 3000 software requires Pentium PC with 24MB Ram (32MB recommended), 30MB available hard disk space, CD-ROM drive, sound card and speakers, microphone, SVGA monitor, compatible scanner, standard standard keyboard and mouse, Windows 95 operating software.
