Models / Styles
The user has a choice of a range of receivers, transmitters and accessories.
TRANSMITTERS
1. Doorbell Transmitter - Alerts to an existing mechanical/electrical doorbell and intercom telephones. The transmitter is placed at the door next to the existing doorbell or intercom. The transmitter is activated via a built in microphone and coil. The microphone sensitivity can be adjusted. It transmits a radio signal to the various receivers. No wiring is required. The transmitter is powered by a nine (9) volt battery.
2. Telephone/Multi-Purpose Transmitter - This transmitter has a red button that allows push button operation to transmit a radio signal to a receiver unit. This allows the device to be used as a door alert.
There is also a 3.5mm plug at the side of the unit to plug in external devices. The transmitter is supplied with a telephone intermediate adaptor and cord. This allows the transmitter to be connected to the telephone line. When the telephone rings, the telephone transmitter will send a radio signal to the receiver unit.
In addition other devices that can trigger an alarm can be connected to this unit. These include external push buttons, an entry mat or relay.
3. Baby Cry Transmitter - when the baby cries the transmitter sends a signal to the receiver. It features three levels of sensitivity, as well as an adjustable time delay of 60 seconds and comes with its own stand so that it can be easily positioned. It comes with a small light on the front of the transmitter that flashes so that you can see that it is operating and this light changes colour when the batteries are low.
4. Smoke Alarm Transmitter - A battery operated, ionization type smoke alarm. When smoke is detected, a signal is sent to the receiver, as well as making a loud alarm sound. This detector has a flashing light to indicate normal battery status and sends a warning signal to the receiver when the battery is low.
RECEIVERS
1. The Visit Pager Receiver - Receives radio signals (64 different radio channels) from any of the transmitters. It has individual indicator lights for each of the four transmitters and different vibration patterns to enable you to identify which area is sending the signal. The pager is available in two styles - a flashing and vibrating model and a model especially designed for people with low vision. The pager can be clipped to a belt etc.
The pager is operated by either a rechargeable or alkaline battery. The pager has a low battery warning signal which consists of short vibrations and a flashing light. An optional recharger is available when using rechargeable batteries (see ACCESSORIES for more details).
2. The Visit Portable Receiver - Receives radio signals (64 different radio channels) from the transmitters and alerts with an adjustable audible tone and a flashing, red indicator light for each of the transmitters. There is a volume control to adjust the loudness of the sound. The volume can be adjusted from 0 to 90db SPL. The portable receiver can also be attached to the Bed-Shaker that vibrates to alert when signals are received (see ACCESSORIES for more details).
3. Flash Receiver - A portable strove light that receives signals from all transmitters. The receiver alerts with flashes and different coloured LED light signals according to the settings of the transmitters. It can be connected to mains power at night to recharge its internal battery. This allows it to be placed anywhere in the home during the day. The rear of the unit has an outlet to which a Bed Shaker can be attached (see ACCESSORIES for more details). There is also an outlet for connection to the telephone line.
The unit includes a built in sensor that regulates the number of flashes emitted - twelve (12) during the day and eight (8) at night. When the phone rings, each ring signal will trigger five (5) flashes, day or night. The receiver includes a mounted table stand, internal rechargeable battery and mains power adaptor. A wall bracket to mount the Flash Receiver is available as an accessory.
4. Visit Alarm Clock - Is a white, upright clock with a red stand and buttons that can be set to awaken the sleeping user. In addition, the Visit Alarm Clock can receive radio signals sent via the transmitters. Upon receiving the transmitted signal, the clock has an internal bell that can awaken the user. Different coloured LED lights indicate the transmitter that sent the signal. A Bed Shaker can be attached to provide a vibrating signal for the sleeping user.
The Visit Alarm Clock is mains powered with battery back-up in case of power failure.
ACCESSORIES
1. Pager Charger - charges the visit pager overnight and provides connection for up to two Bed Shakers.
2. Bed Shaker - a white, vibrating pad with a red non-slip cover on both sides, that can be put under a pillow to alert the user of alarms when sleeping. It can be connected directly to the Visit Portable Receiver, Visit Flash Receiver, Visit Alarm Clock and the Visit Charger.
3. Magnetic Switch - The magnetic switch can be connected to the Visit Telephone/Multi-Purpose Transmitter via the 3.5mm socket. The item can be placed on opening devices such as doors and windows. When the magnetic switch is opened, it activated the Telephone/Multi-Purpose Transmitter and alerts the user by any of the Visit Receivers.
4. Door Entering Contact Mat - The device is put under an ordinary mat close to the door entrance and is connected to the Telephone/Multi-Purpose Transmitter. When a person steps on the mat, the transmitter is activated and the user is alerted by any of the Visit Receivers.
5. Wallmount Bracket - This allows the Visit Flash Receiver to be mounted on a wall where it can be seen within the room.
