Short Description
A larger hand rim with a rubber surface and aluminium profile to replace existing hand rims on manual wheelchairs. The hand rim can be retrofitted to standard, 610mm diameter wheel with a removable, bolted hand rim.

Features
The hand rim is attached close to the wheel to avoid finger entrapment. The larger surface area of the rim requires a slight change in hand position when propelling compared to standard rims. This change in position is designed to reduce hand and shoulder ache.
The user is required to adapt their braking technique slightly. The technique involves lifting and pressing from the underside of the wheel to avoid burns when braking.
The hand rim is only available for standard, 610mm wheels. Not suitable for Aero or Spider wheels. Check with the supplier for suitability.
