Short Description
The Power Assist System is specifically designed for the Jewel Tilt in Space Manual Wheelchair. It is mounted between the transit wheels at the back of the wheelchair. The control switch has variable speed settings and an on off toggle switch. To activate the forward movement a red button is depressed and held down. It can be fitted to a new manual wheelchair or retro fitted to an existing wheelchair.

Features
Drive unit: The drive unit is attached to rolling base frame of the Jewel MPS.
Power System: High Torque 12 volt DC Drive Motor and Gearbox with Single solid rubber high grip drive wheel that manually lowers to the ground and drives the wheelchair.
Battery: One 12 volt 17A/hr Sealed Gel Cell
Battery Charger: 12 volt 2.2 Amp Automatic
Controller: The attendant control is mounted onto the push handles and attached to the drive unit by a flexible cord.
Controller Features: Fully variable speed knob, Push Button Drive Switch, On/Off Switch, On/Off LED Indicator.
Safety: The wheelchair can be fitted with optional attendant brakes on the rear wheels is available (Additional Option). Anti tip wheels are also available as an option.
Mounting: The unit is permanently bolted to the frame of the wheelchair and the drive unit is able to be lowered using the tilt in space function of the wheelchair so that no lifting is involved for the attendant. A strap attached to the rear push bar holds the drive unit off the ground when not required.
