Talking Colour Detector

Short Description
A hand held device that detects and audibly announces the colour of a surface it is pointed towards. When switched on it beeps until placed on a surface with no light infiltrating the sensor. The device then announces basic colour and shade, for example, "very light blue".

Features
When the unit is held against any surface such as paper, cloth, wood, plastic, food etc the colour will be audibly announced. The answer is said automatically within 3 seconds. The device can also act as a light detector.
The device may be useful for people who cannot identify colours due to a vision impairment or colour blindness.
The device is supplied with a clip-on cover to protect the sensors while being carried in a pocket and an earphone which turns the speaker off to avoid disturbing others. The cover clips onto the back of the case when the device is being used. The case has been designed for both right and left handed use and can be held in several different ways.
It is powered by 1 x PP3 9volt alkaline battery (supplied).
