Short Description
A range of subsidised therapy services available to clients in the community who are over 60 years of age. Therapy Centres are located at Elizabeth, Westbourne Park and Grange.
More Details
The Therapy Services Program is subsidised by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. Small co-payments may be required ranging between $6 and $15, depending on the service.
The aim of the program is to enable clients to continue or regain their level of independence within the community.
Eligibility is determined by assessment following a referral from a Health Professional. Self referrals may be accepted.
Services are provided through both individual and group programmes within the following disciplines.
- Occupational Therapy (falls, equipment, safety in the home, home visits, rehabilitation, liaison with hospital discharge planning)
- Physiotherapy (spinal pain, joints, arthritis, rehabilitation for stroke/Parkinson's disease, falls prevention, recovery after surgery, fitness and strength programs)
- Podiatry (nails, corns, calluses, poor foot sensation, diabetic food assessments)
- Activity Programs
