Short Description
The Clipsal Minder is a home automation system that can integrate the electrical services in a home onto one system, allowing access to everything from a single control. This can be through a keypad on a wall, a computer or a telephone. The system can be personalised depending on the level of home automation that is required.

The Clipsal Minder system has the capability to operate every electrical appliance and service in a home from any room, by a switch, remote control, telephone or computer.
Minder can integrate lighting, irrigation, security and air conditioning systems, as well as controlling other equipment such as curtains, roller doors and audio/visual appliances. These systems can be operated either manually or set up to operate automatically.
There is also the capability to set up Minder to call during an emergency to alert someone of the situation.
Options
The Minder system has a number of packages available. These include the:
Intelligent security system - Incorporating motion sensor, internal and external sirens and flashing strobes.
Basic Lighting Control - Ability to program lights to come on/off at random; dimming system.
Total Lighting Management - Includes dimming and switching of light circuits; Movement detectors control lights inside and outside; Integration with smoke detector causes all lights to be turned on if fire is detected.
Security, Lighting & Telephone Integration - Controls security and lighting via voice prompting through a telephone or mobile phone.
Total Home Automation - Controls irrigation system; Use a multi purpose remote control with programming and learning capabilities to control audio/visual equipment as well as curtains or drapes. Roller doors and electric gates can be controlled automatically.
Method Of Use
Keypad or Remote Control:
All electrical appliances can be controlled via a keypad(s) located around the home or a multi purpose remote control.
Computer Software:
The Minder software has a graphics background, which represents the home layout with devices and sensors represented on the backdrop as icons. The software will run on an IBM compatible PC running Windows 3.1 or later. A spare COM port is required to allow connection to the Minder controller.
Telephone or Mobile Phone:
By phoning minder, it is possible to determine the state and change the functioning of a particular device.
