Clicker 5

Short Description
Clicker 5 is a software package for writing and communicating using words and pictures. The software can be accessed using a mouse, trackball, touch window or switch.

More Details
Clicker 5 plays a sound or sends text and pictures to the Clicker Writer word processor (included in software package) when the user clicks on a key in the grid on the screen. The sample grids provided can be used or customised grids can be produced with text (letters, words or sentences), pictures and auditory cues and feedback.

Clicker 5 can be used to create activities for educational, recreational, therapeutic and communication purposes. Switch users can access the Internet using Clicker 5.

Other features include a symbol library, talking spell checker with graphics, creating activities with videos and the ability to read and write Clicker 5 grids. Speech feedback from grids and the word processor, the use of symbols, the size of fonts and the complexity of toolbars can all be customised.

Scanning options for switch users include choice of scanning pattern (linear scan, row/column etc), auditory scanning, adjustable scan speed and single or dual switch scanning.

Requires Windows 95/98/NT with CD-Rom or 31/2" floppy disc drive.


Options
Clicker 5 can be used with Penfriend word prediction software for word prediction with speech output within the grids of Clicker 5.

Free resources are available from the Crick Software website. These include Clicker Grids which are categorised collections of high quality grids, many with graphics..
