Short Description
A wheelchair cushion with a foam base and a separate gel pad with a medical grade sheepskin cover. The foam and gel are heat sealed in plastic. The gel pad is shock absorbent and designed to redistribute pressure.

More Details
This cushion has a foam base with a separate gel pad. The pad includes two densities of gel: a low density gel that encases numerous balls of a higher density gel.
The cushion has a medical grade sheepskin cover, which is washable. The sheepskin cover has a dense wool pile. The cover can be made with a backrest cover and armrest side covers, along with separate matching footplate protectors.
Available in one standard size, but customised sizes may be available upon request.

Cleaning Requirements
The sheepskin cover is made from medical grade Merino fleece. It can be laundered in a domestic washing machine in water up to 80 degrees Celsius.
Caution
All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
