Short Description
A clear plastic bed rail protector which attaches to a bed with webbing and Velcro straps. Foam padding fits over the top rail. Sold in pairs.

More Details
The foam padding fitted over the top rail can assist to protect the legs and arms of users who may put their limbs over the top rail. There is no foam in the main part of the protector.
With some types of bed rails, it may be possible to leave the protector in place when lowering the bed rails.
May benefit users who feel trapped and enclosed by increasing the visual field, and enables carers to see the user in bed.

Method Of Use
To Fit:
- Place the protector over the top rail of the bed rail with the smooth side on the inside and the three webbing and Velcro straps on the inside next to the bed rail.
- Tuck the clear plastic down between the side of the mattress and the bed rail. Thread the webbing and Velcro straps down under the bottom bar of the bed rail and then thread it through the black fittings, sewn to the top straps.
- Keep some tension on the webbing to pull the side of the Bed Rail Protector down, while fastening the Velcro straps.

Cleaning Requirements
The bed rail protectors can be wiped with disinfectant and dried with a soft cloth.

It is advisable to perform sample cleaning test on a lower corner of the protector if using strong disinfectant solutions.

Caution
It is possible for users to be entrapped between the edge of a mattress and a bed rail. This may also happen if a bed rail protector is being used. Entrapment can lead to injury, therefore it is important to do a risk assessment prior to use and regularly review use of bed rails and protectors.
