Short Description
A range of bed overlays made from medically treated, washable wool. Available in a range of sizes.
More Details
The overlays are available in a range of sizes and models. They are designed to reduce pressure and shear forces and provide comfort whilst transferring heat away from the body. They are urine resistant and are available in green and blue colours.
All models are designed to be used on top of a bed sheet.
Factors To Consider
Australian Standard 4480.1 is a voluntary standard that sets a guideline (including laundering methods for infection control) regarding classification for medical grade sheepskins. All sheepskins that comply with the Australian Standard 4480.1 will feature a standard approved logo attached to the back of the leather.
Models
Standard Overlay
The standard model is designed to be generally large enough to cover the user's shoulders to the buttocks/sacrum area. It is available in small, medium, large and extra large sizes.
Custom Overlay
A full sized bed overlay which is designed for long term bed users, and covers the user's body from head to toe. It is available in four sizes, including:
Superior Overlay - 750mm x 1500mm
Classic Overlay - 750mm x 1250mm
Regal Overlay - 750mm x 1800mm
Royal Overlay - 1500mm x 2000mm
Operating Table Overlay - 450mm x 2020mm
Paediatric Overlay
A full sized bed overlay designed for use in children's beds. It covers the user's body from head to toe. Size 750mm x 450mm.
Neonatal Overlay
An overlay designed for use with babies with low body weight and bony prominence. Can facilitate babies to maintain a constant body temperature. Size 500mm x 300mm.
Pressure Care Assistant
The Pressure Care Assistant is a smaller sheepskin designed to be placed on the bed and secured using the calico sheet strips on either side. It can be used under the heels, lower back, shoulders or head and is available in one size only. Sheepskin size is 650mm x 200mm, overall size is 680mm x 300mm.

Cleaning Requirements
Domestic Washing Instructions
Wash on a gentle cycle (water temperature should not exceed 80 degrees celcius) with 20mls of Shear Comfort Shampoo or approved detergent. Product should dry upside down away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Alternatively tumble dry on a low heat which does not exceed 60 degrees celcius.
Industrial Washing Instructions
Wash on a gentle cycle for approximately 10 minutes in hot water up to 60 degrees celcius using a Shear Comfort Shampoo or suitable non-ionic liquid detergent which has no enzymes, phosphates, peroxides, alkali or bleach. Rinse for approximately 3 minutes in warm water at approximately 35 degrees celcius. Wash on a gentle cycle without detergent for approximately 8 minutes in water up to 80 degrees celcius. Rinse for approximately 3 minutes in cool water. Tumble dry warm, do not exceed 60 degrees celcius.
