Short Description
This continence service is led by fully qualified and experienced continence nurse advisors, who liaise closely with the Urology Department, and refer to other services as required. They provide assessment, examination where required, some investigations and conservative treatment to all adults; males, females, veterans and non-veterans.

The service is available to veterans and community clients by self referral or professional referrals and offers:-
Personalised assessment and treatment
Pelvic floor exercises
Bladder training
Dietary and fluid information
Bowel advice
Investigations
Catheter education, management and ongoing advice
Advice regarding suitable aids and appliances
Support for provision of aids for the veteran community
Counseling
Telephone advice and support
Pre and post operative education and support
Prostate health advisory service
All conservative aspects of continence and urological management
Consultations for inpatients and outpatients
Education for community and health professionals
Attend the clinic through GP referral or contact the Continence Nurse Advisor to make an appointment.
