The Royal District Nursing Service metropolitan continence nurse team offer the following:
Comprehensive nursing assessment.
Scans using portable bladder ultrasounds undertaken.
Assistance with appropriate treatments which may include:Pelvic floor muscle stengthening exercises, Lifestyle changes, Bladder training.
Assistance with the choice of aids and appliances to contain and manage the incontinence.
Liaison with, and referral to other health professionals and agencies.
Linking to Domiciliary Care Services.
Education for professional groups and consumers.
Continence Nurse Advisors are in attendance across the metropolitan area, telephone for an appointment by phoning 1300 364 264. Continence care is provided at the RDNS local nursing centres and in the home.
