Short Description
A training package designed to be a self-directed resource for personal care workers who often work alone or unsupervised. Titles included in these packages are:
Video and Workbook One: Your back - looking after it! This package provides a basic understanding of the anatomy of the back and how it works; the importance of posture; how to prepare your body for physical work with exercises suggested.
Video and Workbook Two: Health and safety in your workplace. This package examines occupational health and safety standards and provides guidelines for conducting a risk assessment in the workplace.
Video and Workbook Three: Transferring and Lifting. This package highlights the importance of communication, preparation of the workplace and the personal care worker; principles and techniques for transferring and lifting, together with an introduction to some techniques to apply to various situations. All packages have an accompanying quiz to test the worker`s understanding of the content and its application. Running time for each video is twenty minutes. Each package requires one hour to complete.
