Short Description
A seven minute video which was featured on the television show Today Tonight . It outlines changes to the building code in regards to hot water systems, in particular that tap water must be controlled to 50 degrees maximum. The video suggests ways to reduce the temperature of hot water at the tap.

CONTENTS: The video explains that in the tank hot water must a temperature of 70 degrees to prevent bacteria build-up. However, tap water at this temperature can cause immediate burns and therefore the new plumbing laws are to ensure the tap water is at 50 degrees maximum. Suggestions about how to reduce the tap water temperature are made:
* installing a temperature controlled hot water system
* using mixer taps that automatically mixes cold water with hot water
* a thermostatic valve that must be installed by a plumber
* installing a shut off valve at taps, which reduces the water to a trickle if temperature exceeds 50 degrees - can be installed by client
