CONTENTS: The standards defines `manual tasks` as including activities requiring a person to grsap, manipulate, strike, throw, carry, move (lift, lower, push, pull), hold or restrain an object, load or body part. The chapters cover main concepts of manual tasks; workplace obligations; design, consultation and training; risk management, identification, assessment and control.

As it is an advisory standard, workplaces must either do what the standard says, or adopt and follow another way that gives the same level of protection against the risk.
