Short Description
A customisable static frame mount for positioning communication devices and laptop computers on most conventional wheelchairs. Attachment is via a frame clamp permanently attached to the wheelchair frame that allows the mount itself to be removed and replaced readily for transfers. It can be mounted on the left or right side of the wheelchair.

MATERIALS: Made of steel
ADJUSTMENT:
The mount allows for adjustment of height, tilt and horizontal position to enable the device to be positioned to meet individual access needs. The mount swings away beside the wheelchair when not in use. All settings are adjusted using an allen key.
CUSTOMISED FEATURES:
Available with a variety of tubing lengths (specify on purchase request) and with several options of clamp style to accommodate a wide range of wheelchairs.
CAUTION:
The combined weight of the mount and the device on the side of wheelchair can be sufficient to cause overbalance when the user transfers. Ensure that the mount and device are removed prior to transferring in and out of the wheelchair.
COMMENT:
A separate mounting plate is required to attach a device to the mount.
GENERAL PRESCRIPTION CONSIDERATIONS:
Wheelchair type: Daessy mounts can be purchased for lightweight manual to heavier power chairs however not all Daessy mounts will be universally compatible with your chair.
Type of device: Some Daessy mounts may be more suitable than others for the specific communication device your client is considering.
Ability of user: Whether the client or carer performs swing away or side folding action of the mount arm will affect which Daessy mount is more suitable.
Storage / removal of mount: Where will the device be mounted and does it need to be removed / replaced quickly. This will affect the type of mount selected.
Clamp type: A round or square frame clamp is available.
Frame clamp size: All Daessy mounts come with a 1 inch (25mm) clamp as standard. Larger clamps are available on request.
INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE:
All non locking mounts must be removed and all locking mounts must be locked when travelling in a motor vehicle.
Bolt on mounts should be checked and tightened on a regular basis.

COMPONENTS:
The mount consists of two lengths of tube rigidly connected to form a right angled structure. The device is attached to a horizontal tube crossing the wheelchair and supported by a vertical tube in a clamp that is permanently attached to the wheelchair.
ATTACHMENT:
The Clamp is standard one inch (25mm) and can attach to the left or right side of the chair. It can also be removed altogether if required. Alternate shape and size clamps can be obtained on request.
