Short Description
Installation of a Mode 3 or Mode 5 function to a specific telephone wall socket ensures that the equipment plugged into that socket will override any other activity on the telephone line. This means that if the alarm is activated for an Emergency Call System which is plugged into the socket, the alarm signal will still be sent down the telephone line even if the phone has been left off the hook or if someone was phoning in at the time.

More Details
COMMENTS: Mode 3 or Mode 5 can be hard wired into the telephone socket by an Austel approved technician. Mode 3 is also available to purchase as telephone socket adapter that can be plugged in without the assistance of a technician.
Different types of equipment (eg. different brands of emergency call systems) may only suit one of the modes and not the other. Contact the supplier of the specific emergency call system or an Austel approved technician to find out which mode would best suit.
