Lifesaver Smoke Alarm

Short Description
A smoke alarm with a fixed rechargeable battery which is able to be interconnected to a Remote Visual Signalling Device. The product must be installed by a fire alarm specialist and licenced electrician.PRODUCT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED.

INSTALLATION: Required to be installed by a qualified electrician knowledgeable about smoke alarms.

WARRANTY: Five years for the smoke detector and three years for the signalling device.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The State Government will offer up to financial assistance for the purchase of smoke alarms that send out strobe lighting and/or link to a vibration pad which can shake enough to wake a person from their sleep. Rebates of up to $400 on purchases of specialised smoke alarms per household are available. Purchases from 20 December 2007 will be eligible for the rebate. The scheme does not subsidise the cost of 'hard-wiring' devices.
Eligibility criteria:
· Proof of purchase
· Permanent resident
· Signed confirmation from GP or hearing practitioner that level of hearing loss may prevent them from hearing a standard smoke alarm
· Have (or be the dependent of a holder of) a Centrelink allowance, concession card, DVA Gold Repatriation Health Card or White Repatriation Health


Models
One model is available. Systems consists of two components - the smoke detector and the Remote Visual Signalling Device. The Visual Signalling Device has a 177 Candela strobe light and can be interconnected with compatible 240 volt smoke and heat alarms.
