Short Description
An alternative time keeping device for people who find the traditional representation of time (i.e. clock face or digital display) too abstract and removed from functional events. The Quarter Hour Watch contains a built in clock that monitors time remaining in 15 minute intervals to a scheduled event.

Programming: The display card is coupled with a disposable black plastic watch face. The template of the watch face has push-out sections that represent time and time of day. To program 3pm - push out the PM indicator and the 3 and 12 arms on the clock face. When this is snapped back into the watch, sensors 'read' the blank areas and program the watch automatically. Includes picture cards and carry case.
Display: Picture cards are made of impact resistant plastic. The pictures they display may be either stickers of symbols/photos/word or a drawn picture made by the user, family or carers.
Batteries: Uses three 1.5volt (AAA) standard batteries. Supplier states battery life should extend to seven months minimum. Visual alert symbol appears on display when batteries are low.
Models
Only one model is available in four different colours: red, blue black and silver.
Pack includes: Quarter Hour Watch, five picture cards, 20 disposable clock face inserts and carry case.
Method Of Use
When a programmed picture/cue card is inserted into the watch, the number of quarters of an hour remaining to the event time is shown.
Each 15 minute interval is displayed as a LED light that is dimmed after the 15 minute period is passed. In this way, a visual countdown to the scheduled event is shown.
Eight LED's are displayed therefore all are lit while two or more hours are remaining, with the countdown beginning at the two hour mark.
When the scheduled point in time occurs the Quarter Hour Watch beeps and all LED's flash intensively for one minute. The flashing will continue at a slower rate for 15 minutes past the scheduled time. The Quarter Hour Watch will also signal time before an event for up to 12 hours.
