COMMENTS: Use of such a product is subject to the following conditions:
1. The vertical and torsional loadings imposed on the towbar assembly when fully loaded must not exceed the relevant towbar manufacturers specifications.
2. The overhang produced by the fitting of the assembly does not exceed the allowable limits of the Queensland Traffic Regulations. On a small car this means it cannot extend any more than 60% of the length of the vehicle's wheel base (axle to axle). The overhang must be measured from the rear axle.
3. The loadings carried on it must not obscure any compulsory lighting including any high mounted stop lights.
4. The number plate issued by Queensland Transport can be relocated if it is obscured. It should be mounted no higher than 1.3m from the ground. A white light must illuminate the number plate during the hours of darkness so that it can be easily read at a distance of 20 metres. Note that it is not allowable to substitute a Queensland Transport number plate with a copy.
5. The device must not be left attached to the vehicle when not in use.
6. The device and the load upon it must be properly secured to the vehicle.
7. Should the view to the rear of the vehicle be obscured by the device or the load on it, additional external mirrors on the left and the right of the vehicle must be fitted to obtain a clear view to the rear.
